One of the valley’s best-loved food festivals takes over the village center of Schwendau, with hundreds of end-of-summer revellers, locals and visitors, gathering to taste this distinctive Zillertal Valley dish in different varieties. This most popular of all Zillertal Valley specialties is by far not the easiest to prepare – but will never be missing whenever the locals have a reason to celebrate – this traditional Zillertal dish comes with a tasty grey cheese filling in a crispy exterior. Schwendau’s quintessential mountain village street bustles with family-friendly fun during this event and all who attend are guaranteed to leave with sticky fingers and a full tummy. Of course, adults will have the chance to sample innovative eaux de vie from local distilleries. Organized by the Hippach Brass Band, this perfect event for foodies also includes bands from far and near, playing their stirring music to the entertainment of all. The Festival kicks-off at 11:00am with a brass band parade, followed by live music entertainment.
