From exciting treasure hunts in the Kundler Klamm gorge to days out in the silver mine with its fascinating underground tunnels, the Wildschönau region of Tirol is ideal for nature-loving families with children.
With its rolling green hills providing a marked contrast to the otherwise craggy mountain scenery of Tirol, the Wildschönau region is the perfect destination for families with children. Many walking and hiking trails begin in one of the local villages, with some even designed to accommodate pushchairs and buggies. Families should try the circular walk around the Thierbacher Kogel mountain, where children will love the forest play area and the "insect hotel". Another must-do is a trip to the Kundler Klamm gorge and the Schönangeralm hut in Auffach, where children can play by the stream while parents enjoy a relaxing picnic. Visitors interested in horses can try pony riding at the Hotel Wastlhof in Niederau, whose friendly instructors also offer rides into the countryside.
