Tirol's Top Regions for Ski Holidays with Children

Winter holidays with children can be great fun - if the location, facilities and atmosphere are right. We have put together a list of Tirol's best ski regions for families, where children will find plenty to see and do while parents enjoy relaxing in the heart of the Alps.

Ski holidays with children need the right infrastructure – from beginners' areas and equipment storage facilities to flexible rental arrangements that allow kids to change their skis, boots and poles as and when they wish. Tirol is home to ten quality-approved family ski regions with particularly family-friendly resorts and ski schools that meet a range of quality criteria. On-piste highlights such as adventure parks and funslopes guarantee plenty of fun, while parents of younger children can use the resorts' childcare facilities and relax safe in the knowledge that their precious ones are in good hands. Many of the resorts also have family reductions for life passes.

"Fun on the Slopes": new children's programmes in Tirol's ski schools

In line with the motto "Fun on the Slopes" there are 18 quality-approved ski schools where children aged 3 years and older can learn how to ski in a fun, relaxed environment. Following the ski lesson in the morning, the afternoon is spent out and about exploring the landscape – searching for animal tracks, racing each other on snow discs, or simply building a good old snowman. A whole day of skiing is often too tiring for young children, so they are relieved to have different snow-based activities in the afternoon. Progress is recorded in a special booklet, and before you know it your little snow angels will be whizzing down the slopes faster than Mum and Dad!
