Iseltal Valley Cycle Path

Iseltal Valley Cycle Path has its trailhead on foot of Bruck Castle, on the northern entrance to East Tirol’s capital Lienz. The easy, 28-kilometer long path runs alongside the banks of Isel River to Matrei in Osttirol taking cyclists through some stunningly beautiful mountain scenery. The fairly flat family route is suitable for children and takes some 2.5 hours to complete.

  • The Matrei National Park Visitor Center is the best place to start your visit to East Tirol’s Hohen Tauern Region. Here you will find an exhibition on two floors that provides information about the National Park’s geology, history, culture, area wildlife and plant life.
  • Check out the legendary Kienburg Castle, an ancient monument that today houses the unique "Kienburg Hay Bath". The castle is located at the southern edge of Iseltal Valley between Huben and Sankt Johann im Walde.
