Trail description

From the car park of the Mutzkopfbahn chairlift at 1,347 metres above sea level there is a tarmac road leading towards the Gasthof Riatschhof (1,560m). This road takes riders straight to the start of the Family Trail.

Another option is to use the Family Trail as an alternative to the Riatschwegele 2 trail. In this case riders must take the two-man chairlift or ride up from Nauders to the top station of the chairlift. The climb of around 400 vertical metres takes roughly one hour by bike.

Leaving from the top of the cable car, the Unterer Family Trail can be reached via the Kreumoos Trail. The start of the trail is clearly visible. A wooden church spire with a signpost on it shows riders the way. Follow the signs down through sections of roots and a beautiful forest. After around 50 vertical metres of fast and flowy riding you will reach a fork in the path, where riders have the option of either staying on the Kreuzmoos Trail or turning off onto the Gerry Trail.

The Kreuzmoos Trail ends after around 1,500 metres and merges to the left into the Riatschwegele 1. The trail terminates at the point where it reaches the tarmac road above the Gasthof Riatschhof. Follow the road for around 100 metres. At the entrance to the Gasthof turn right (folllow the signs) onto the Unterer Family Trail. This wide open trail leads through a beautiful meadow and then merges with a narrower forest path, which continues all the way down to the bottom station of the chairlift.

The Unterer Family Trail is part of the 3 Countries Enduro Trails, a cross-border network of trails on the Reschen Pass comprising four lifts and 21 trails. For more information on the 3 Countries Enduro Trails visit www.nauders.com.

Tip!
The 3 Countries Bike Card offers riders access to all the trails and lifts in this beautiful region where Austria, Italy and Switzerland converge. It can be purchased from all tourism offices in the region.
