Mountain experience park with panoramic lake
“Kreuzjoch no amol!” So goes the local cheer about the mountain experience park in Schlick. The popular hiking and climbing paradise is 20 minutes by car from Innsbruck in the Stubaital valley and is a wonderful high-altitude valley surrounded by chalk summits, often also called the “North Tyrol Dolomites”. It’s an easy ride up the Kreuzjoch in the Schlick cable car to an oasis of relaxation in a wonderful alpine landscape. People meet at the idyllic Waxeck panoramic lake to use the Kneipp trail on the gentle banks or to paddle in a babbling brook, while the whole family can unwind on the relaxing wellness couches and the enjoy the box seats so near to the sky.
Playtime experience path and alpine plant trail There’s fun for everyone at the Schlick mountain experience park: The alpine plant trail, with its diverse flora, lets friends of plants blossom. On the superbly signed learning path, you’ll find pasque flowers, gentian, campion, silver thistles and alpine roses. Climbers delight in the numerous via ferrata, graded from easy to difficult, and children love the exciting experience path to the Schlicker Alm, which leads through easy terrain from the panoramic lake in about one hour. Parents get a break from their children’s nagging, because rooty trees, climbing bridges, crawling tunnels, wobbly stones, rope bridges and slides line the path and make the hike pass in the blink of an eye.
