Trail description

Day 1: Reutte - Gehrenspitze - Gehrenalpe
Ride the Reutte Gondola (Hahnenkammbahn) to its top terminal and follow signage to Lechaschauer Alm. From there, the trail continues past Schneidspitze to Gehrenalpe Alpine Pasture Hut, where you can leave your backpack. Then, scale 2,163-meter Gehrenspitze Peak, which is the north-easternmost point of Tannheimertal Valley. From the summit, retrace your steps to Gehrenalpe Alpine Pasture Hut, your base for that night.

Day 2: Gehrenalpe - Musauer Alm - Gasthaus Bärenfalle/Pflach
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at Gehrenalpe Alpine Pasture Hut. Once you are replete you can continue your trek to Musauer Alm via Gehrenjoch Col. Descending into Reintal Valley, the trail offers stunning views of lush and verdant meadows and lofty peaks. For fit peak-baggers, or those simply interested in getting a gorgeous view from a relatively easy-to-navigate peak, the short and easy detour to the top of Achsel Mountain has views that are worth the extra effort. This day hike ends at Bärenfalle Inn. Spend the night in the small commune of Pflach .

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED: If you still have some extra energy, take a walk along the delightful Lech River Trail. The bird watching tower offers amazing views of Europe’s last wild river.

Day 3: Pflach - Säuling - Gutshof zum Schluxen
Day #3 begins with a scramble to the summit of Säuling. After all that work some time on top at the hut of the same name is highly recommended. The path winds across the border to Germany and the efforts will be rewarded with incredible views of the Alpsee Lake and the famous Kings Castles. Fürstenweg Trail will bring you back to the Austrian Tirol and to the destination end of this three day trek, “Gutshof zum Schluxen“ Estate.
