Piste tours in the Patscherkofel ski resort

Located to the south of Innsbruck, the Patscherkofel ski resort has plenty of on-piste adventures for ski touring enthusiasts.

Olympic Route to the top of Patscherkofel (intermediate)

This ski tour climbs 952 vertical metres along the "Olympic Route" from the bottom to the top of the Patscherkofelbahn cable car. Steep section make for a challenging adventure. The route begins at car park P1 (Heiligwasserweg) in the village of Igls. From there, head uphill past the small children's lift and on the Olympiaabfahrt piste all the way to the top of the Patscherkofelbahn cable car. There, at 1,957 metres above sea level, you will find the Patscherkofel-Schutzhaus housing the cosy "Das Kofel" restaurant.

  • Parking: parking available at the bottom of the Patscherkofelbahn cable car (pay-and-display), Igls in Innsbruck
  • Arriving by bus: bus route J (Innsbruck – Igls Patscherkofel)
  • Walking time: 2 hours
  • Distance: 3.8km
  • Vertical ascent: 952 metres
  • Huts along the way: "Das Hausberg" at the bottom of the resort, "Das Kofel" at the top of the resort
