Rinner Alm Toboggan Run

Located south-east of Innsbruck, this 4km toboggan run leads from just above the Rinner Alm hut (1,380 metres) down to the village of Rinn. There is a separate path for walking up, which means you don't have to worry tobogganers coming down at speed. Much of the ascent and descent is in the forest, but the trees open up every now and then to reveal fine views of the Inn Valley, the city of Innsbruck and the Nordkette mountains on the opposite side of the valley. The toboggan run itself, which is of intermediate difficulty, comprises plenty of corners, including a number of tight turns, and makes it possible for tobogganers to pick up good speed in places. The run is floodlit until 19:00 in the evening until Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. However, please be aware that there is no lighting on the trail where you walk up and on the first 200 metres of the toboggan run above the Rinner Alm hut.
