Snowshoe
Thierberg

The starting point of this snowshoe, the village center of Alpbach, is reason enough to embark on this tour of intermediate difficulty: A tidy collection of dark wooden chalets and the Alps as a stunning backdrop, Alpbach is easily among the country’s most gorgeous villages. The epitome of an idyllic chocolate box village, the style of architecture here is uniform—and the scene is serene. Ski vacationers in search of beauty and seclusion are never disappointed on this snowshoe to Bischoferalm Alpine Pasture Hut, situated at an elevation of 1,267 meters. While you rest at the quaint cabin, warm up over hot drinks. Once you’re replete and replenished, return to Alpbach or rent a sled from the cabin for an exhilarating way back down—giving you the reward you earned for the climb.
