Tirol's many lifts and cable cars open during the summer months give quick and easy access to a huge range of activities such as high-alpine hikes, family days at outdoor adventure parks - or simply relaxing with a glass of red wine as the sun sets on the horizon.
Though they are best known for whisking skiers and snowboarders up into the snowy mountains in winter, many of the cable cars and lifts in Tirol also operate in summer to give hikers, mountain bikers, rock climbers and visitors simply in search of stunning panoramic views a quick and easy route into the Alps. Some mountain peaks can, in fact, only be accessed via cable car because the distance from the valley floor to the summit would be too far to complete on foot. Families with children also use the region's cable cars to access adventure parks, summer toboggan runs, high-rope climbing areas and zipwires in the mountains.
