Gravel round
Through the Tannheimer Tal with two crisp climbs
Learn moreThank you, Lechtal - this is exactly what we were looking for. Gramais, Hinterhornbach, Pfafflar and Kaisers: four mini villages, somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the lonely side valleys of the Lechtal. Wild nature all around, with only one guesthouse in the village.
Our tips for the time-out villages in the Lech Valley:
In the hamlet of Stillebach there is silence, a stream and a cosy, down-to-earth organic hotel. And countless adventure opportunities in the wild mountains of the Pitztal valley all around. But the hotel actually offers everything you need to let the mountains be mountains and not leave the hotel...
Our tips for the Biohotel Stillebach
Alone or in a friendly community - the Hubird in the quiet Navistal valley is just the right place for a retreat in the mountains. Yoga classes on alpine meadows, great vegetarian and vegan food made from regional produce and the opportunity to visit a different alpine pasture every day.
Our tips for the Hubird in Navis:
Wonderful picnic spots at the bottom of the valley
"Stay calm" is the motto of the valley. A perfect fit for our plans. No other valley in Tyrol stands for slow tourism and unspoilt nature like this. How can such a beautiful valley be so lonely? Perhaps because - according to its own statement - it has nothing? We think that's a complete understatement.
Our tips for the Villgratental:
Our mountaineering village at the self-proclaimed "most beautiful end of the world". The title is fine - hello idyllic village! Few people get lost in the secluded places on the quiet north side of the Rofan, such as the unmanaged Ampmoosalm and Hirschlacke.
Our tips for Steinberg am Rofan:
Even Ludwig Ganghofer felt right at home in Leutasch and was inspired by the nature between Wetterstein and Karwendel. And he would probably breathe a sigh of relief in and out of the hotel today. Because the hotel is a place of inspiration. Loving, reduced to the essentials and pleasantly different.
Our tips for the Hotel aufatmen:
A refreshing swim every morning at the private lake access. Culinary delights from our own organic farm for breakfast and dinner. Stay in the last house at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser. How does that sound? We think it sounds like a heavenly break.
Our tips for the Hagenhof organic farm:
East Tyrol is already very tranquil, unspoilt and blessed with wonderful nature in the Hohe Tauern National Park. And then even in East Tyrol there are places that take the whole thing to the (calming) extreme. Have you ever heard of St. Jakob in Defereggen Valley?
Our tips for the Defereggen Valley:
Our sleepy village duo is a great backdrop for winding down. The clocks seem to run a little slower in both valleys. Primitiveness, little going on but enchanting landscapes en masse. And many places that help you get back to basics.
Our tips for Vals & Schmirn
The Hotel Juffing wanted to create spaces to calm the mind. And it has succeeded. Now it's up to you to find your favourite room: The hotel's own library, the Sanftwelt, the maple garden, the yoga room, the Annemariestube or the lovely forest and meadow landscape in the Thiersee mountains?
Our tips for the Hotel Juffing in Hinterthiersee
Our tips for the Alpengasthof Praxmar:
That's exactly what we want for a time-out - a hideaway in the middle of the forest that you have to find first. Small, personal, built in a climate-neutral way and blessed with calming views and forest tranquillity. A place you'll be reluctant to leave.
Our tips for the Sinnes Waldrast:
Welcome, dear peace seekers, we have found just the right place for you: Only 10 rooms, a sustainable and mindful hospitality philosophy, a warm host family, a secluded location and unspoilt nature all around.
Our tips for the Berghof Pfunds:
In the Tannheimer Tal, the world is automatically a little quieter. The villages here are a little smaller, the mountains a little gentler and the lakes a little quieter than in the rest of Tyrol. Close to the border and easily accessible from Germany, the lovely high valley is probably the most direct route for a few days of relaxation.
