New Exhibition: PLATON - "Photos from the Island of Paros"
World-renowned are his “Portraits of Power”. Platon, actually Platon Antoniou, photographed Barack Obama, George Clooney, Bill Clinton, David Beckham, Donald Trump, Elon Musk – a Who's Who of international politics and showbiz.
The upcoming exhibition at KiS – Art in Seefeld showcases Platon's impressive works from his series Photos from the Island of Paros. For years, the photographer traveled to his homeland island of Paros, where he spent his childhood as the son of a Greek father and a British mother. He found his subjects in cafés, schools, or churches, such as “Monk With Folded Arms” (@Platon). Platon is one of the most significant portrait photographers of our time – and Rafael Jablonka will exhibit works from his collection starting June 13 at the Old Fire Station in Seefeld.
Free admission.
Opening hours:
June 13 to September 28, 2025, Friday – Sunday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Twice a year, changing exhibitions of contemporary art at an international level. Thanks to the gallery owner living in Seefeld, Rafael Jablonka, this has been possible since mid-2021. In addition, the association KiS, founded in 2022 to promote contemporary art in Seefeld, ensures an interesting cultural program throughout the year, featuring concerts, readings, artist talks, and special projects for children and adolescents. Elisabeth Gürtler from the Alpin Resort Sacher is the chairperson of the association, supported on the board by the Innsbruck gallery owner Clemens Rhomberg and entrepreneur Christian Jäger from Reith near Seefeld. Anyone can become a member.
The KIS exhibition is designed to be barrier-friendly. There is enough space between the pictures and artworks for comfortable movement with a wheelchair or walking aid. A barrier-free restroom is located nearby in the opposite parking lot (P8).
