Event Ceremonial Cattle and Sheep Drive in Pfunds

When the farmers' pride and joy returns home after the summer, the small village of Pfunds hosts a folk festival - or rather two. The Almabtrieb festivals are a long-standing tradition.

Pfunds showcases its animal diversity at the cattle drive festivals: cows and horses can be admired at the start on the first weekend, the festival is framed by a farmers' market and culinary delicacies. The arrival of the sheep and goats is celebrated on the second weekend. At the "Schafschoad" or "Schafschied", things can get a little rougher when it comes to catching the sheep and assigning them to their farmers. Guests can also witness how sheep are sheared for their valuable wool.
