Event Glacier Tour "Fascination Snow & Ice"

On the way with a nature park guide, you get very special insights into the fascination of the "Hintertux Glacier". The knowledge about glaciology can be deepened!

Description

Especially in summer, the phenomena of the glacier can be seen clearly. Climate change is taking its toll and causing all Alpine glaciers to melt. What was the situation this spring? Why does Sahara sand also play a significant role on the glaciers? A nature park guide explains the visible phenomena of the glacier: glacier crevasses, moraines, glacier striations, etc., and also takes you back to the Ice Age.

From the viewing platforms, we observe the phenomena and take the Glacier Bus 3 to the highest point in the ski area. 

• Dates: every Thursday from 05.06. – 25.09.2025
• Meeting point: with registration at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM | Tuxer Fernerhaus forecourt (allow about 30 minutes for the ascent)
• Duration: approximately 1 hour
• Number of participants: Maximum 12 | Registration is absolutely necessary at www.myzillertal.at
• Character: very easy; no special hiking knowledge required; Ideal for children from 7 years old.
• Proper equipment: mountain shoes, sun protection, jacket, and hat! 
• Cost contribution: Adults: € 15,-- Children: € 7.50 (7-14 years); free for guests of the nature park partner businesses & nature park members! 
  For the ascent with the cable car, the panoramic ticket "Fascination Ice" is required.
