The Gschnitztal is one of the most beautiful valleys in Tyrol, we dare say. The Gschnitztal cycle path is the easiest and most scenic way to explore the entire valley on two wheels.

The route leads through the pristine mountain landscape of the Gschnitz Valley and boasts a varied mix of well-maintained asphalt paths and easy gravel sections along the Gschnitzbach stream. Highlights of the tour are the wide Trins fields with their hay barns, the Mader family's alpaca farm and the "Lahnwiesen" Kneipp facility, which invite you to relax. Charming refreshment stops such as the "Pumafalle" or the "Liftstüberl" restaurant beckon along the way. The route is always scenic, with impressive views of the striking peaks such as Kirchdachspitze, Habicht, Feuersteine and Tribulaune. An ideal tour for nature and pleasure lovers, without any major technical challenges.

Description

he "Gschnitztal Valley cycle lane (Gschnitztalradweg)" 45 begins at Steinach railway station and branches off from the „Wipptal Valley cycle lane“ number 30 there. After crossing the main road, the mountain bike trail 528 leads to "Nösslach-Obernberg" while still in the village at the Kurpark-gardens. Shortly after the village, the road leads to the Bergeralm cable car with a paying car park. At the end of the car park right at the heating plant the mountain bike trail 5059 leads to the "Blaser hut".

Contiuing straight for 50m and after a total 1.5 km, the mountain bike trail 5091 „Vallmaritzalm alp" and the mountain bike trail 527 „Bergeralm alp-Gerichtsherrnalm alp" branch off to the left. The first section of the gravelled "Mountain Bike Forest Trail“ here can also be taken via „Herrenwasserl spring" and "Blamoos" into the Gschnitztal valley. Straight ahead, the "Wiesenweg" is the main cycle lane to the Gschnitztal valley along the stream on an asphalted road.

After 5.5 km, still before the village of Trins at the "Winterbrücke" (winter bridge), the previously branched-off mountain bike forest trail leads back to the cycle path. On the right the lane leads onto the mountain bike trails 577 „Padasterjochhaus hut" & 523 "Blaser mountain circle tour". A little further slightly uphill, the first valley level is reached in Trins and the cycle path leads under the "Sarnthein Castle" to the left side of the stream to the St. Annen chapel of the river to the "Liftstüberl" restaurant. The mountain bike trail 525 "Trunahütte" branches off here.

The cycle lane continues along the Gschnitzbach stream through the Trinser fields past numerous hay barns with a wonderful mountain panorama past the "Pumafalle" snack station. Before Gschnitz, at 9.2 km, the trail turns into an easy gravel path at the "Lahnwiesen" Kneipp facility. After a forest passage at the "Alpaka Farm Mader" and the paying car park, over the bridge, the lane continues immediately left along the Gschnitzbach river on the gravel path to the village Gschnitz. From the church the public road leads to the final destination restaurant "Feuerstein" and "Mühlendorf"mafter a total of 15.3km and 256m uphill, you reach your destination at the "Feuerstein" inn and the . From there the mountain bike trail 5058 leads on an asphalt path to the „Laponesalm alp".
