The Mountaineering Village Steinberg am Rofan
The Association of Mountaineering Villages was born from an initiative of the Alpine Clubs. In order to be accepted into the ranks of the mountaineering villages, strict criteria must be fulfilled, also in regard to tourism. The focus is on unadulterated alpinism and an original experience of nature, which also includes physical exertion, overcoming alpine difficulties, enjoying the natural beauty of the Alps, and slowing down.

During Advent, the little village Steinberg am Rofan turns into a magical place. 24 houses have joined together to form a lovingly designed Advent calendar. Every day, a new house is brightly lit up in pre-Christmas light.
