born in 1947 in Pescara/Italy, childhood and youth in his father's bronze foundry · 1970-76 Netherlands, collaboration with Joop Falke, sculptor and goldsmith · 1977 settles near Florence · 1982 founding of “Bottega di Ciro,” an artist workshop with medieval influence · since 1991 commissioned works in sacred spaces · exhibitions in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, China, and Japan · various television documentaries on ORF and RAI
With inexhaustible imagination and the ability to "see with the heart,” Ciro creates works of art of astonishing expressiveness and meaning from unremarkable things in nature and disposable products of our society. “I want to give a moment of deeper joy and conjure a smile on the faces of those who see my works.”
