The Love Witch (A film by Anna Biller, 120 min.)
This autumn, we have the honor of welcoming the Diametrale to the sacred halls of Neuwirt for the first time: since 2017, it has been presenting original visual and auditory experiences away from mainstream taste under the motto "useless and beautiful." In addition to the main festival, which takes place in the regular spring slot, the DIAMETRALE Nachtvisionen are held annually in the autumn. The films of the Nachtvisionen delve into the realm of genre-crossing cinema from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, which only fully reveal their impact at night due to their quirky style.
THE LOVE WITCH is a visually intoxicating and feminist-ironic homage to the erotic thrillers of the 60s, in which a charming female protagonist dangerously stirs up both magical powers and the hearts of men in her desperate quest for love.
