October: Art Workshop with Christian “Yeti” Beirer for children—quirky, creative, and fun. The joy of creative work is the most important goal. A collaboration between literature and visual arts with the SPRACHSALZ LITERATURE FESTIVAL. The Stadtgalerie Dialog, just like the Sprachsalz Literature Festival, sees itself as a bridge-builder and intersection of various art forms. So it stands to reason that the upcoming exhibition “SCHNITTSTELLE,” in collaboration with the Sprachsalz Festival, will explore, examine, and reflect on these intersections in greater depth. The exhibition features highly renowned cartoonists from Vienna such as PENG and Rudi Klein, cartoonist Nicolas Mahler, painter and object artist Hannes Priesch from Graz, the two Tirolean textile artists Irmgard Hofer-Wolf and Monika Köck—who call themselves COOP-Stoff as a duo—concept artist Pauline Lotti Müller from Germany, poet and illustrator Julia Costa, a young cartoonist from Innsbruck—Luzius Stemeseder—and, as a special guest and Partner of the Sprachsalz Festival, Christian Beirer with his objects and the HAIKU Path, which was developed specifically as a connecting element between language and visual art and will link the two events as well as various locations throughout the city center. Specifically, the author and visual artist Christian Yeti Beirer will be present in both formats and will share more—both in the exhibition and during the discussion—about the intersection of literature and art in his work, while also immediately involving event attendees in an interactive haiku experiment. And who knows—maybe a few literary friends will show up on the spur of the moment as well.
