Anja Thaler sings and writes about the small and big things in life, with a strong voice and idiosyncratic poetry. Her debut album ‘...dann wären wir das Meer’ (Then we would be the sea), produced by Andy Baum, was released at the end of 2023. Now, together with Maurica ‘Mo’ Schotman, Anja is bringing her songs to the stage as a special live experience.
When you listen to Anja Thaler's album, each song tells a story in its own special way. Thoughtful, charming and poetic – crossing genres – pop, rock, chanson-like – Anja calls her music philo-pop because the lyrics and messages are important to her. And yet it is much more than that: music, voice, depth and a large dose of obstinacy.
Live, the artist brings a versatile, profound programme to the stage: in a duo with multi-instrumentalist Maurice ‘Mo’ Schotman, the two create an intense and touching musical experience with voice, looper, harp, bass and piano.
