Description
On 31 December, it's time once again to take the jump into the icy waters! During the traditional New Year's Eve swim in Lake Achensee, brave swimmers take the plunge into the four-degree water and swim 50 metres across the lake, all the while being cheered on by enthusiastic onlookers.

To bring the body temperature back to normal, the participants can also recover in the sauna of the Hotel Post after their effort. The physical well-being is well taken care of.
Category Sport In the ‘Sport’ category, swimmers jump from a three-metre-high jetty into Lake Achensee, swim 25 metres to the iceberg, climb it and ring the New Year's Eve bell before swimming back to the jetty.The person who comes closest to the average time receives the prize money.
Category Fun In the ‘Fun’ category, anything goes when it comes to costumes, from grandma's nightgown to grandpa's underpants. The winner receives the audience's recognition and prizes.
