Description

The band impresses with compositions that range from lyrical restraint to extroverted expressiveness, and convinces with great rhythmic finesse – often in irregular time signatures. Despite all the sophistication, the ensemble never loses sight of the shared joy of playing and allows its music to emerge spontaneously and intuitively. Stylistically, the quartet is shaped by the personal signature of its two main composers Rupert Kirchmair and Florian Bramböck. Their pieces navigate the tension between Florian Bramböck's joyful-experimental approach to jazz tradition and the lyrically-classical language of Rupert Kirchmair.
