Description

The listed Falkenhütte in the heart of the impressive Karwendel Nature Park finally welcomes hiking and biking guests again. For more than three years, the historic refuge was restored and completely renovated in painstaking detail and with a lot of heart and soul according to historical documents. Now, in addition to modern sanitary facilities and 128 traditional camp beds, it even offers visitors its own seminar room during the summer months. E-bikes can also be charged at the family-friendly hut below the imposing Laliderer walls; you have to bring your own suitable charger.

The 2 innkeepers Claudia and Bartl takes care of hungry hikers and (e-)bikers with great dedication and serves local delicacies in the faithfully restored Tyrolean parlour by the crackling tiled stove.

OVERNIGHT STAY
For tours lasting several days in the extensive Karwendel Nature Park, the Falkenhütte has a total of 18 room beds and 128 traditional campsites with modern sanitary facilities. A separate seminar room can also be used on request, please book in advance in any case. During the winter months, the refuge also offers emergency sleeping accommodation with eight camp beds, stove, firewood and blankets (no water!).

STARTING POINT
The starting point of the hike to the Falkenhütte can be reached by train from Lenggries railway station, by regional bus (mid-June to mid-October) from the bus stop at the Eng car park on well-signposted hiking and biking trails. If you prefer to travel by car via the toll road, there are plenty of parking spaces at the Eng car park, which is subject to a charge. 

SUMMER TOURS

• Adlerweg Stage 10. The most famous hiking trail in Tyrol starts at the Falkenhütte at 1,848 metres above sea level and is well signposted on a pleasant path through lush alpine meadows down to the valley and over the small Ahornboden to the Karwendelhaus.

• Karwendelmarsch 35/52km. The legendary Karwendelmarsch leads from the start in Scharnitz 35 crisp kilometres over the Schafstallboden (1,173m), the Karwendelhaus (1,771m) and the small Ahornboden (1,399m) to the Falkenhütte (1,848m) and on to the finish at the Engalm (1,227m). Alternatively, for the 52km distance, the route continues straight on via the Binsalm (1,502m), the Gramai Hochleger (1,756m) and the Falzturn Alm (1,098m) to Pertisau on Lake Achen (932m).
