The Top Ski Huts in the Arlberg Mountains

The Arlberg Mountains are home to many traditional ski huts combining fine food, attentive service and a great atmosphere. Here is a selection of our own personal favourites.

Arlberg Thaja draws locals and visitors alike with its mix of traditional dishes such as Tiroler Gröstl and Käsespätzle as well as more modern dishes like Pulled Pork – also available in a vegan variation. The hut also boasts a large terrace where you can dine in the sun and maybe even get the après-ski started.

Location: The ski hut is located in St. Christoph on piste 64.

The Sennhütte is known for its live music and excellent food. In spring the terrace is a real hit. Don’t forget to leave space for a serving of Kaiserschmarren, a pancake-like dish served with icing sugar on top and apple sauce on the side.

Location: Skiing from Galzig into the valley, you will go right past the Sennhütte. It is located on piste 50 and is the first hut on the right-hand side.

The Mooserwirt  is known first and foremost for its legendary après-ski. And if you should get hungry between drinks, the menu has plenty to offer – including legendary burgers which also come in vegan variations.

Location: The Mooserwirt is located on the piste leading down into St. Anton.

The Verwallstube is one of the highest fine dining restaurants in Europe. Guests are welcome to keep on their ski boots, while the food served really is a cut above the rest. Once a week there is a special evening service where visitors can ride up on the cable car and enjoy a candlelight dinner with live piano music. Unforgettable!

Location: At the top of the Galzigbahn cable car.

The Griabli is about as warm, welcoming and cosy as it gets when it comes to ski huts. Located opposite the Mooserwirt, it is a place to relax on snowy days. On Mondays and Wednesdays there is live music with a mix of blues and rock’n’roll.

Location: The Griabli is located on piste 50 leading down into St. Anton.
