The Top Ski Huts in the Arlberg Mountains

The Arlberg Mountains are home to many traditional ski huts combining fine food, attentive service and a great atmosphere. Here is a selection of our own personal favourites.

The Arlberg Thaja isn’t just a place for locals. It serves classics such as Gröstl and Spätzle, as well as pulled pork, which is just as legendary in its vegan version. Sun-worshippers can relax on the outdoor terrace and perhaps even kick off the après-ski.

Location: The ski hut is situated in St. Christoph, on run no. 64.

The Sennhütte creates a great atmosphere with live music and fine food. In spring, the sun terrace becomes the ultimate spot to relax, where the famous Sennhütte Kaiserschmarren provides every guest with plenty of energy for their next run!

Location: If you’re skiing down from the Galzig into the valley, you’ll pass right by the Sennhütte. It’s situated on valley run no. 50 and is the first mountain hut on the right-hand side.

The Mooserwirt in St. Anton attracts visitors not only with its après-ski, but also with its delicious Mooser burgers. Anyone spending the day there can enjoy not only a fantastic atmosphere, but also a burger (including a vegan option) that you’ll hardly want to share!

Location: The Mooserwirt is situated right on the valley run down to St. Anton.

The Verwallstube is one of the highest-altitude award-winning restaurants in Europe. Gourmet dining in your ski boots – almost unique! Once a week, the atmosphere is particularly special: a night-time ride on the Galzigbahn, a candlelit dinner and live piano music combine to create an unforgettable experience.

Location: Right next to the Galzigbahn mountain station.

The Griabli is perfect for those who love a cosy atmosphere. Situated directly opposite the Mooserwirt, it’s the ideal spot for a relaxing time on snowy days. On Mondays and Wednesdays, however, things get wild: that’s when a live band rocks the place with blues and rock ’n’ roll.

Location: The Griabli is ideally situated right next to the No. 50 valley run down to St. Anton.
