20 boulders with breathtaking views of the Großvenediger
With a view of the imposing Großvenediger, a small, still little-known bouldering area is hidden just a ten-minute walk from the Johannishütte. Around 20 blocks of high-quality, grippy gneiss blend harmoniously into the alpine landscape and look particularly photogenic against the backdrop of the Großvenediger group.
Torrential streams meander alongside the rocks, marmots provide acoustic accompaniment, and grazing cattle occasionally show interest in the climbers. The boulders offer several bouldering problems with varying degrees of difficulty and inclines, with medium grades predominating. However, more challenging lines are also possible.
The landing areas are mostly flat and forgiving, but a crash pad is still recommended. If you go further into the slope or valley, you will discover additional boulders and new possibilities. Conclusion: A worthwhile spot for an enjoyable day of bouldering – and a good reason not to forget your climbing shoes in your backpack.
