Description

Description:
Cruise through the Tannheimer Tal on the wonderfully groomed cross-country ski trail. Along the way you will find several places to stop for a bite to eat and linger.
Tyrolean cross-country ski trail seal of approval
For two decades, the Tyrolean state government has been awarding the Tyrolean cross-country ski trail seal of approval to trail operators who apply under certain conditions.
The Tannheimer Tal is a "cross-country skiing paradise". This is not only the opinion of the ADAC Ski Guide 2008, which nominated the region as one of the top 10 ski resorts in the Nordic/cross-country category. There was also a special award from the state of Tyrol: the "Cross-country skiing seal of approval from the state of Tyrol". This is valid for three years and criteria such as the number of trails, preparation, orientation and markings are regularly checked.
With a 140-kilometre network of trails and a maximum altitude difference of 50 meters, the Tannheimer Tal has ideal cross-country skiing conditions. The trails are suitable for both classic style and skating and offer cross-country skiers of all abilities the right challenges.Directions:
We start at the Tannheim tourist office building and follow the east-facing trail across the flat meadows with wonderful views of the Rote Flüh
and the Gimpel. On the southern shore of the Haldensee lake, we follow the trail along the edge of the forest to Nesselwängle. Below the Tannheimer Gruppe and the Krinnenspitze, a wide loop is run across the outermost meadows of the valley.
The return to Tannheim is via the flat meadows of Nesselwängle and after an easy descent we reach the eastern shore of Lake Haldensee. The highlight of this circular trail is the crossing of the frozen Haldensee. The trail continues past Grän, which lies on the sunny side of the valley, and leads back to Tannheim across beautiful wide meadows with a wonderful view of the expanse of "probably the most beautiful high valley in Europe".Tip:
