A tour into the Hörndlingergraben, accompanied on the approach by resting places by the water, the small "Schreiende Brunnen" waterfalls and shady passages. From the Grundalmen, the real ascent begins via the sunny serpentines of the forest road to the Hochhörndler Hütte. TIP: Sun terrace, endless mountain panorama, and the possibility to combine the bike tour with a via ferrata!
How to get to the starting point: From the centre of the village, cycle along the Ache towards Gasthof Eiserne Hand. Immediately afterwards, cycle over the bridge. From here follow the tour "Eiserne Hand Hörndlinger Graben 259". Always follow the course of the stream and road, past the small waterfalls "Schreiende Brunnen" to the valley station of the TirolS-Bahn (up to here 9.2 km / 1h10).
From here, the tour to the Hochhörndler Hut no. 2020 begins. Continue biking steadily uphill into the valley. From the Grundalmen, the ascent begins via the serpentines of the forest road up to the hut. Return via the same route back to the village centre.
By bus: Bus connection from Ellmau / Kitzbühel / St. Johann i.T. / Lofer and within the PillerseeTal region. Bus stop Fieberbrunn Walchau. Free of charge with guest card. Limited bicycle transport possible. Journey time to the starting point at the TirolS Bahn approx. 1 h.
By train: Train connection from Wörgl to Hochfilzen (regional trains). Free of charge with guest card. Fieberbrunn railway station. Limited bicycle transport possible. Journey time to the starting point at the TirolS Bahn approx. 1h10min.
Parking in Fieberbrunn village centre (gravel car park, free of charge, 1h to the starting point) or small car park after Gasthof Eiserne Hand (free of charge, 45 min to the starting point).
