Description

Many dairy cows thrive on the meadows and alpine pastures of the Kufsteinerland region, providing the basis for excellent cheese. This cycle tour takes you through all four Kaiserwinkl villages with their excellent cheese dairies and farm shops. The tour starts in Kössen, where you will be welcomed by the Kaiserwinkl Sennerei cheese dairy. After crossing the Großache river, you cycle to the blue Walchsee lake with views of the Kaiser mountains. Treat yourself to a break on the lake shore, visit the Walchsee organic cheese dairy or jump into the sparkling water. You then reach the Schwemm nature reserve – it's worth stopping off at the rest area with its observation tower. At the Plangger cheese dairy, you can fortify yourself for the upcoming climb to Durchholzen. Via Bichlach, you continue to Schwendt, where you can stock up on delicious cheese at the Stubenalm or the Danzl dairy. From Schwendt, you roll down into the valley and back to Kössen, your starting point.
