Learn to ride with flow in the practice area for novice riders and families.
Located in the "Streiteck Mulde" at the base station of the Sonnenrast chairlift, our MTB Family Area Streiteck (a "Learn to Ride" area on the mountain) awaits you.
With a 100-meter conveyor lift and several cool kids' and practice trails totaling around 1.4 km, this is the ideal meeting point for mountain-biking families and beginners—whether for practicing, warming up, swapping tips, attending bike camps, or simply hanging out at the element3 bike lounge, "JufenBeach."
Blue lines offer a first taste of "flow" riding with banked turns and simple features. The red line adds small drops and jumps, the black line a small gaps and shark fins, while a short, intermediate-level jump line gives advanced riders space to work on their technique and creativity.
Tip:
The JufenBeach sun terrace offers a perfect view of the biking action, making it an ideal spot for parents, grandparents, and accompanying adults.
How do you get to the MTB Family Area Streiteck?
The Sonnenrast lift transports passengers both up and down the mountain. Alternatively, you can reach the area from the top station of the Fleckalmbahn lift via the easy Sonnenrast Trail, the forest road, or on foot along the hiking path towards Pengelstein (1–1.2 km; 5–8 minutes by bike or 15–20 minutes on foot).
From the Hahnenkamm lift, allow about 20–25 minutes by bike, including a short, steep climb (approx. 2.9 km; 90 m elevation gain, 85 m descent). We recommend that families bring a tow rope to help pull the kids up the hill.
Please note: Rental bikes must be picked up in the valley!
