Yes, Ischgl can also do something in summer - you can quickly leave the hustle and bustle behind and drive through the long, lonely and beautiful Fimba valley to the Idalp and then steeply up to the Flimjoch. In a high alpine landscape and on the Swiss border.

Tour character

On this tour from Ischgl in the Paznaun valley to the Flimjoch, you will conquer more than 1,300 meters in altitude. From the Silvrettabahn cable car, the route leads into the idyllic Fimba valley to the middle station of the Silvrettabahn cable car, then steeper through the ski area to the Idalp. The final ascent to the Flimjoch at 2,750 m and the Swiss border is once again steep and sweat-inducing. Up here you can enjoy the magnificent view of the peaks of the Samnaun group.

Description

Culinary treats and a sun terrace await at the Idalp. As part of the Ironbike Festival, the Alpenhaus Trophy route invites bikers to compete by floodlight. This route covers approx. 1,000 m of altitude along a steadily climbing asphalt road. The route heads off towards the Fimbatal valley from the outset, running uphill to the middle station of the Fimbabahn or Silvrettabahn cable car. It is also worth taking a detour to the Schwarzwassersee and Pardatscher-See lakes. Form here, the road weaves its way up towards the Pardatschgratbahn cable car. The views down into the original Fimbatal valley and to the Gamspleis peak become increasingly more impressive. Once at the Idalp, the sun terrace is the perfect place to stop off for refreshments. On the route back to Ischgl, you can either take the road or the lively Paznauner Taja Trail (page 46) down towards the Fimbatal valley. Another option is the signposted connecting route 7090 up to the starting point at the Flimjochbahn mountain station.
