Mountain hikes Grünwaldalm - Wiesloch - Gipfel Steinplatte

Waidring / Chiemgauer Alpen
Difficulty ratings: medium
Route length: 7.8 km
Duration: 3:25 h

An alpine trail that requires surefootedness and a head for heights. But this tour offers a lot of variety: Alpine soil at the foot of the vertical rocks of the Steinplatte, sometimes wider sometimes narrower paths, wonderful panorama and at the end an easy scramble over rocks to the summit of the Steinplatte. If you like, you can take the Wieslochsteig (via ferrata / B).

Description

From the top station of the Steinplatte cable car, follow the road down to the Stallenalm. Here you branch off in the direction of Grünwaldalm / Wemeteigenalm and hike along wonderful alpine paths at the foot of the Steinplatte. At the Grünwaldalm, keep to the right in the direction of Wiesloch / Wemeteigen.
(TIP: for all experienced via ferrata hikers: branch off in the direction of the Schuastagangl via ferrata - Steinplatte summit. Difficulty C/D. Via ferrata equipment required!)
Along the tour you can enjoy the great viewpoints again and again. Above the Kopfkrax, the trail branches off to the left and leads over some rocks (easy, unsecured climbing). At another junction, keep to the right and climb over rockier terrain via a path to the summit.
(TIP: for all via ferrata climbers: at this junction, the Wieslochsteig via ferrata branches off to the left. Ideal for beginners. Difficulty B. Via ferrata equipment required!)
From the summit of the Steinplatte, the trail leads back to the starting point via the serpentines of the gravel road.
