Equipment

Good equipment is essential for your hike. The following items should definitely be in your rucksack: - Food and drink - Functional clothing for rain, wind and cold - A change of clothes - Sun protection - First aid kit - Mobile phone with a full battery (Euro emergency number 112) - Hiking map or GPS - Hiking poles Nevertheless, the following applies: light luggage is also easier to carry, so you should not weigh down your rucksack with unnecessary ballast. In addition, your hiking equipment should of course also be adapted to your particular hiking tour

Description

Your hike starts right next to the Aqua Nova adventure pool and takes you along the Lechweg - upstream. Cross the Lech at the first bridge, past the church, always following the signs for Lechleiten. (After the hamlet of Prenten, the two routes initially separate, but rejoin in Holzgau).
Cross the Lech on a wooden bridge. You soon gain height in a few hairpin bends and can catch your breath with the Lech in view. Following a sign marked "Ebene", there are no similarly demanding climbs. First you walk downhill on a paved path to a small settlement (refreshments available!).
At the first house on the left, your path branches off, with wooden planks to help you over the soft ground in some places. After another forest crossing, you will be greeted by the church tower of Holzgau. A relaxed hike across the Gföllwiesen meadows is followed by a suspension bridge over the Höhenbach gorge to tickle your nerves. The Lech loop leads you directly to the bridge, not over it.  In Holzgau, the scenery can be viewed from a different angle, preferably from the terrace of one of the cafés. From Holzgau to Steeg, the Lechweg now keeps you company again.
