See / Verwall
Difficulty ratings: medium
Route length: 43.6 km
Duration: 14:00 h

The Paznaun "Weiße Weiten" winter hiking trail stretches over 43.6 kilometers from See to Zeinissee in Galtür and crosses the entire valley in three stages.

Tour character

The "White Worlds" winter hiking trail is a great way to experience the high alpine Paznaun Valley in winter away from the well-known ski areas in the valley. It runs over 43.6 kilometers and three stages from See to Zeinissee in Galtür through snow-covered valley landscapes. The route runs along well-cleared paths, but requires a good level of fitness. On the first stage from See to the Diasbahn mountain station in Kappl (15.9 km), the hamlet of Oberhaus and huts invite you to take a break, with the option of tackling the last section from the mountain station back down to the valley by snooc (sit-ski) or gondola. The second stage (18.8 km) leads past alpacas, wooden barns, the Silvretta Therme and the Silvretta Wildlife Park to Galtür. On the third stage (8.9 km), the section to the Zeinissee and Kopsstausee lakes impresses with high alpine panoramic views that winter hikers rarely have in this form. Interesting - the tour ends on the main European watershed between the Rhine and Danube.
