Winter hike Crystal-clear streams - a winter circuit along the Treffauer stream

Description

From the village centre, the route initially follows the road along the Wegscheidbach stream uphill to the Restaurant Jägerwirt. This cosy inn is renowned for its excellent Tyrolean cuisine and hospitality. The path then continues for a short section through the forest. After crossing a stream, there is another short climb to the Steinacker ridge. From there, the route leads slightly downhill. On the right-hand side is the Mittersbach farmhouse, whose elaborately carved balconies are a particular eye-catcher. The trail continues downhill in a small loop and along the Treffauerbach stream. During the cold season, the numerous ice crystals along the stream create an atmospheric winter backdrop. A forest path leads the route back to Scheffau.
