A beautiful ascent along the toboggan run from the parking lot in Hochfilzen / Warming to the Hoametzlhütte. Sunshine until the afternoon and the impressive panorama of the Leoganger Steinberge make the tour a very special experience.
You start at the parking lot of the T-bar lifts in Hochfilzen and follow the rolled track of the toboggan run steadily uphill to the Hoametzlhütte. The track is used by winter hikers and tobogganers alike for the ascent. After a short straight ascent, it goes uphill over curves. Shortly below the Hoametzlhütte, at a wooden hut, you can also switch to the outermost edge of the slope, in order to leave the last steep section to the tobogganers heading downhill.
Already in the morning the ascent is accompanied by sunshine and the mighty peaks of Leoganger Steinbergen, Spielberg and Wildseeloder make this short tour a scenically special experience. As a reward, the Hoametzlhütte with traditional delicacies awaits all hungry hikers.
The descent is the same as the ascent. Alternatively with the toboggan, which can be rented at the hut.
By bus:free bus service from Ellmau / Kitzbühel / St. Johann i.T. / Lofer and within the PillerseeTal region to Hochfilzen. Stop Hochfilzen ski lift. Free of charge with guest card.
By train: free train connection from Wörgl to Hochfilzen (regional trains) with guest card. Train station Hochfilzen. Walking time to the starting point approx. 30 min.
