Easy winter long-distance trail from See to Galtür
Winter long-distance hikes are suitable for anyone who enjoys being active in the fresh winter air: Nature lovers and sporty and enduring hikers. Even though winter long-distance hikes can be both easier and more challenging, a certain level of fitness is required. A realistic self-assessment is important for long-distance hikes.
There are two long-distance hiking trails in Tyrol: the 1st long-distance winter hiking trail in Tyrol in Seefeld Leutasch and the "Weiße Weiten" long-distance winter hiking trail in Paznaun-Ischgl. They differ both in terms of difficulty and duration: in Paznaun-Ischgl you hike for 3 days on a rather easy route. In the Seefeld region, the route takes 4 days up to the Wettersteinhütte - here you need to be a little more fit and sure-footed.
The long-distance winter hike in Paznaun takes 3 days, the one in Seefeld Leutasch takes 4 days. A luggage service is offered for the 4-day hike. You can stay overnight in hotels or rustic huts.
On all winter long-distance hikes, you not only walk in the valley, but also on steeper terrain. In winter, particular attention must be paid to the weather situation, the forecast snowfall and the avalanche situation. As the hikes are divided into three to four daily stages, overnight accommodation (hotels or huts) should definitely be booked in advance. It is also best to hike with good equipment: this includes the right clothing (warm in winter) and appropriate equipment (rucksack, provisions, spikes, teapot, etc.).
