The region's largest body of water, Lake Achensee is playfully known as the "Sea of Tirol" and us surrounded by a region offering plenty to see, do and experience for guests of all ages. An absolute must is a cruise on the lake itself, located at the foot of mighty peaks stretching high into the sky. Visitors with nerves of steel can take to the air on the Skyglider Air Rofan, a high-speed zipwire starting on the Gschöllkopf mountain and whizzing down into the valley. The action continues at the Achenkirch Adventure Park with its high-rope obstacle course up to 15 metres above the ground. And after all that adrenaline, why not relax with a visit to the local history museum telling the story of farming, mining and local saints?
