In 2012 a swimming and leisure area was opened at Lake Ahornsee near Söll, a pretty mountain village located between the Kaiser Mountains and the Hohe Salve. During the summer months it draws locals and visitors alike with its wide range of outdoor activities and attractions.
In the short space of time since it opened, the Ahornsee has quickly become one of the most popular summer destinations in the region around Söll with its combination of action and relaxation in and around the water.
The lake itself is surrounded by lush sunbathing lawns and tall trees providing shade on hot days. Four wooden walkways lead out onto the lake. A section of the shoreline has been covered with stones, gravel and sand for an authentic seaside experience. The spacious swimming and leisure area also includes changing facilities, WCs, showers and a rental service for deckchairs and parasols. There is also a small café selling snacks, drinks and ice cream, which all taste even better when served with a fabulous view of the lake.
