Six kilometres long and up to 76.5 metres deep, the Plansee is one of the cleanest lakes in Tirol and is ideal for sailing, surfing, diving, fishing and, of course, swimming. Small lake, big impression! The unspoiled Berglsteinersee lake may not be record-breaking in terms of its size, but its idyllic location in the middle of a forest and reed landscape make it a popular location on hot summer days. Lanser See, just a few kilometers above Innsbruck, is popular with locals and guests alike. The moorland lake promises lots of fun and action with its children's pool, swings, sandpit and rope slide. Extras include a nudist area for naked swimming and sunbathing.
Splashing around in the water, romping around in the playground and then a trip on a pedal boat, rowing boat or dolphin boat – the Thiersee lake, which is up to 24 degrees warm in summer, promises a variety of bathing fun for guests of all ages.
The Haldensee lake offers fine conditions for splashing around and swimming thanks to its first-class water quality. If you like, you can hire a rowing or pedal boat or paddle across the lake on a surfboard or SUP board.
The Reintalersee is the largest of the Kramsach lakes and is one of the warmest bathing lakes in Tirol with temperatures of up to 25 degrees. Spacious sunbathing lawns, children's playgrounds, boat hire, restaurants and buffets ensure a great swimming experience for the whole family.

Clear, clean water is practically the trademark of Tirol's swimming lakes. The water quality of all lakes is consistently very good, often even comparable to that of drinking water, and therefore very refreshing. This is demonstrated by the 28 Tirolean bathing lakes that have been tested as part of the EU Bathing Water Monitoring Programme and whose water quality is constantly monitored.
Depending on the size and location of the lake, the temperatures of Tirol's swimming lakes vary greatly. On average the water temperature is anywhere between 19°C and 25°C, though lakes range from icy cold to pleasantly warm in summer. In addition to the higher mountain lakes, Tyrol's largest lake, Lake Achensee, and the idyllically situated Vilsalpsee in the Tannheimer Tal Valley, are also considered among the region's colder bathing lakes. Water temperatures often do not reach more than 17 degrees. The warmest bathing lakes, on the other hand, reach much higher temperatures. The Schwarzsee near Kitzbühel, for example, has temperatures of up to 27 degrees in the summer months, the Walchsee in Kaiserwinkl up to 24 degrees and the Natterersee near Innsbruck warms up to 25 degrees.
