Schwarze Schneidbahn I+II

Lift closed

With the base located at an elevation of 2,600 meters above sea level on Rettenbachferner Glacier, Schwarze Schneidbahn offers two gondola ride options up to spectacular mountaintop destinations. The gondola ride itself is stunning. It’s like a bird’s eye view—in flight and the views are breathtaking! Take the section II gondola even higher and you’ll top out at the highest elevation you can reach by gondola in Ötztal Valley. Within a 15 minutes’ walk from the top, “Schwarze Schneid Nature Platform” observation deck awaits you. The efforts of hiking up are rewarded with 360-degree views of mighty “Three-Thousanders”, high altitude peaks averaging 3,000 meters in elevation.
