6 international master organists play at thelargest symphonic organ in Tyrol in the Schwaz parish church Maria Himmelfahrt
The parish church "Maria Himmelfahrt", inaugurated in 1502, gives us an idea of the wealth that flowed from silver mining into the city of Schwaz in the 15th century: it is the only four-aisle hall church in Central Europe.
It was restored to its original Gothic state in 1988/1990.
The baroque middle section and the positive of the Great Organ were erected by the Franciscan brother Gaudenz Köck in the years 1724 - 1735.
In 1896/97 the organ builder Reinisch extended it by the two side works and converted it to a pneumatic, in 1969 finally by Johann Pirchner, Steinach am Brenner, to an electro-pneumatic action.
