Geierwally Freilichtbühne 2026: "Schwabenkinder" - PREMIERE
In 2026, the Geierwally Open-Air Stage presents "Schwabenkinder" by Claudia Lang-Forcher.
First performed 30 years ago, the play tells the story of a Lechtal family that represents many suffering families throughout Tyrol around 1900.
The Lechtal, which cannot sustain its residents, forces desperate parents to send their children to work abroad year after year. The story portrays the moral conflict of a mother who receives an adoption request for her child from Swabia. She must decide whether to let her child go, thus providing it with wealth and a good education, or to bring it back into poverty.
Experience a gripping drama about hardship, deprivation, and a mother's love that knows no bounds.
