Neophytes are non-native plant species that can spread aggressively and displace native species. To protect biodiversity at the Seefeld Plateau, the Plateau municipalities, in cooperation with the KEM Seefeld Plateau and the TVB Seefeld, are launching a cross-community initiative. After a brief introduction by Dr. Konrad Pagitz (University of Innsbruck, Neophyte Officer of the Tyrol region) on the identification, removal, and disposal of neophytes, participants will head directly to affected locations where initial plant populations will be removed together. Further actions are planned. Please bring: garden shears (optional scythe/mower), gloves, sturdy footwear, and long clothing. Registration is not required.
Together against invasive plant species
Neophytes are non-native plant species that spread vigorously, displacing native plants and can sometimes harm people, animals, and nature. To protect local biodiversity, we would like to work together across communities in the future.
