With Ritmos de Amistad, Julia Malischnig presents a unique project in collaboration with an international ensemble of outstanding musicians and the kelagBIGband for its premiere. Southern sound colors, pulsating rhythms, and poetic depth combine to create a musical experience that transcends stylistic boundaries. Based on Julia Malischnig's new album AMISTAD – a tribute to friendship and cultural connection – the concert evening promises a wealth of colors, emotions, and sonic sophistication; inspired by the depth of Latin American songs, the elegance of Spanish compositions, and the power of contemporary works. In this premiere configuration, international musicians meet the kelagBIGband – the big band flagship of Kelag from the state of Carinthia, conducted by Hans Lassnig-Walder. Individual voices and rich ensemble sound converge into a polyphonic whole, where different musical worlds intersect.
