Stars of Tomorrow - Dance Festival
Energetic, entertaining, and diverse – this is the show of the young dancers who have been successfully performing as the "Stars of Tomorrow" in St. Johann for 25 years. In more than 20 pieces, four Tyrolean and three American youth dance companies will showcase what they have in their repertoire on Friday, June 20, starting at 8 PM at the main square in St. Johann.
DANCE LIKE NOBODY´S WATCHING
The show offers a fireworks display of youthful dance talent. As always, there is something for everyone: from classical ballet to musical, contemporary and jazz dance, all the way to hip hop.
More than 140 highly talented young artists aged between 12 and 18 will captivate the St. Johann audience. Four "Local Heroes" will perform: Classic Skills/Fieberbrunn, Love to Dance/Kirchbichl, the Tyrolean Ballet School/St. Johann, and Bewegt.Leben/Kufstein. They will share the stage with the following dance companies from the USA: Dallas Ballet Company (Dallas, Texas); Utah Metropolitan Ballet 2 (Lindon, Utah); and the Dallas Repertoire Ballet (Dallas, Texas).
In mid-June, the Stars of Tomorrow will also offer six free workshops for middle and high school students with an American teacher, where the kids will not only learn a cool choreography but can also work with an English native speaker.
Particularly popular among American guests is the meeting with the young dancers of the Edelraute folk dance group, who impress with their performance of Tyrolean folk dances and subsequently invite the American guests to join them in a Bauernmadl Workshop.
The performance at the main square and the meeting with the Edelraute folk dance group is graciously made possible by the St. Johann in Tirol Tourism Association. In case of rain, the event will take place in the Kaisersaal.
