The Tyrolean Lech is unmistakable! It is the last wild river in the Northern Alps and, for long stretches, does what every mountain river was allowed to do a long time ago – spread out and shape its course on its own. In its wide riverbed, it constantly reinvents itself. River arms branch off and merge back together. The only constant is the ongoing change. The expansive floodplains and the mountain world of the Allgäu and Lechtal Alps in our nature park are among the most beautiful and primal landscapes of the Alps.
