The Whirlwind Family Day is all about spending time together in nature. Families set off together to explore the Wildschönau valley and experience a variety of stations along the way with small tasks to participate in. The focus is not on performance or speed, but on togetherness, the joy of exercise, and consciously experiencing nature. The Whirlwind Day focuses on shared experiences in nature. Under the motto “Outdoors together”, families embark on a varied adventure hike with games, puzzles, and nature stations along the route. Without any time pressure, but with plenty of exercise, the joy of discovery, and little adventures, hiking becomes a special experience for young and old alike.
Along the route, families collect puzzle pieces that are put together at the finish line. Only when all the pieces are in place can the dragon Toni be freed – a shared adventure full of team spirit and the joy of discovery.
Even the journey to the start is a special experience: All participating families are taken to the starting point of the hike together on the slow train. From there, the route leads up and down through nature, past discovery stations and refreshment stops. The route is deliberately designed to be flexible – families can hike back down into the valley at any time, depending on their fitness, age, and the children's mood, and thus create their own personal hiking experience.
