The Speikbodenhütte is located on the sunny side of the Defereggental above St. Veit i. D. at 2.050 metres above sea level. The hosts offer guests an unforgettable experience in the mountains with their down-to-earth home cooking and cosy atmosphere.
The Speikbodenhütte is also an ideal starting point for many large and small mountain tours in the Lasörling group and is also on the way to the local mountain "Speikboden" - 2.653 metres. A rewarding mountain tour also leads to the mountain lakes "Gritzer Seen".
Ascent in summer:
- From St. Veit i. D. - Oberholz car park - via the marked forest path approx. 1.5 hours
Access by car only permitted in summer up to the Speikbodenhütte
The Speikodenhütte is also a popular excursion destination for tobogganists, winter hikers and ski tourers in winter. The neighbouring 3.7 km long toboggan run invites you to enjoy tobogganing followed by a stop at the hut!
